Sushi Doraku is a sushi restaurant designed by Rick Garcia. Located on famous Lincoln Road on Miami Beach, it opened in 2000. This popular spot showcases his surreal paintings and sculpture such as the 60' x 25' Octopus which hangs from the ceiling. The Octopus was built in Garcia's studio and assembled on site including the inner lighting which is connected to a computer and illuminates each tentacle to a specified sequence. Custom made light sconces called "Fisheyes" adorn the hallways to the restrooms and other light accessories titled "High Eel Boots" are placed at the booths. The restrooms are also designed by Garcia where the men's room resembles a wall of jean fabric being opened by a large zipper exposing the urinal. The womens restroom resembles a womans chest wearing a bustier made of mirror and seven large lightbulbs to appear as a string of pearls.
